MEDICO-LEGAL EVALUATIONS

Our staff have extensive knowledge of the assessment and rehabilitation treatment of brain injury, from causes such as motor vehicle accidents, assault, falls, work-related accidents, and stroke.  We can provide independent medical evaluations, forensic evaluations, decisional capacity evaluations, fitness for duty evaluations, disability reviews, and File Reviews for the purposes of determining if an individual is experiencing residual function impairments associated with their injury. We have experience with children (age 6 or older), adolescents, adults, and geriatric individuals. Such evaluations are tailored to the referral source, but may include any or all of the following activities:

  • Review and summarization of pertinent records

  • Evaluation of the individual’s current level of functioning in various domains, which may include:

    • Intellectual ability

    • Language

    • Learning and memory

    • Sensory motor

    • Visual-spatial ability

    • Attention and processing speed

    • Executive Functioning

    • Academic Achievement

    • Personality and psychological functioning

  • Responses to specific questions regarding level of functional neurocognitive or psychological impairment, need for additional treatment, need for work accommodations, symptom validity, etc.

  • Deposition

  • Court testimony
