AVIATION ASSESSMENTS

We have 2 qualified and certified providers who offer FAA evaluations in the state of Pennsylvania and we provide neuropsychological assessment and consultation services for medical-legal and civil law cases.

Our practitioners are board certified in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology.  We have been providing evaluations for over 15 years to pilots and prospective pilots who are seeking their FAA medical certificate. We also provide evaluations for Air Traffic Control candidates who have been referred for further evaluation. We have extensive experience in the assessment of conditions that may require special issuance, including:

  • Use of medication to treat anxiety and depression

  • History of AD/HD and stimulant use

  • History of brain injury, stroke, or other medical conditions that require assessment

  • History of drug/alcohol abuse

  • HIV positive status

The specific assessment battery is established by the Federal Aviation Administration, but evaluations typically involve administration of CogSceen–Aeromedical Edition as well as further assessment of some or all of the following domains of functioning:

  • Intellectual ability

  • Language

  • Learning and memory

  • Sensory motor

  • Visual-spatial ability

  • Attention and processing speed

  • Executive Functioning

  • Academic Achievement

  • Personality and psychological functioning

The assessment process typically involves a clinical interview to obtain a comprehensive history, review of records, administration, scoring, and interpretation of tests, and a comprehensive report that summarizes findings and recommendations.

“I just wanted to reach out to you and tell you thank you for your help and for making the process as simple as possible. I received my medical certificate two weeks ago and was able to start school on time. Everything was flawless. I appreciate the quality of work you did on my behalf.”
